Lure is an image you can step into.

We use languages of film and theatrical scenography to engage with complexities of image, narrative, space, and direct experience. The installation’s debris net facade is a widescreen image proportion, and its vibrant blue hue references cinematic chromakey composting techniques where one space gets mapped onto another. The looping circulatory system folds the public space of the street into the gallery. Movement across the threshold takes you into the space of the image itself.

The work is both object and environment, a lure and a trap. The intersecting off-camber passages are all distorted in forced perspective, either foreshortening or lengthening the perception of space. Varying opacities of mesh fabric create a series of immersive veils, ghosting occupants in a hazy blue hue and tempering the light entering the gallery. The work gently touches the existing structure at its skylights, revealing desirous ways of moving latent within the architecture.
