Analizando las estatuas de una ciudad, su ubicación en lugares particulares, cuántas son de hombres y cuántas de mujeres, cuántas son de ricos y cuántas son de pobres, y cuántas son héroes y cuántas son de mártires, se puede hacer un mapeo de las aspiraciones de una sociedad, o al menos de lo que han querido hacer con ella a partir de la reconstrucción estratégica de su pasado. Y cuando esa sociedad, por sus propias manos, se da a la tarea de revisitar esos relatos y romper esos ídolos, es porque sin duda se encamina a escribir una nueva historia, ponderando y engrandeciendo a sus personajes desde otra perspectiva.
