B65 Colombia, Nuevo Leon MÉXICO 1892
A slim border access was annexed by Nuevo Leon from neighboring Coahuila in 1892. This decision would prove crucial to trade and economic prosperity for the border town, so named to commemorate the 400 year anniversary of the explorer’s first expedition. The planned community of Colombia, designed by the Anahuac Municipality, was developed 100 years later.
It is the site of the Colombia-Solidarity International Bridge over the Rio Grande, which connects the city and Laredo, Texas. Laredo then connects to the rest of the USA via the Union Pacific and Kansas City Southern Railroads.
